Fifty new apple trees in the heart of Tudela Veguín

On the morning of Thursday, 6 March, 48 students from the local national school, aged between 3 and 10 years old, along with the school Principal and several teachers, took part in the first tree planting event of the year in the Tudela Veguín cement factory.

Following tradition, also participating in the event was the Mayor of Oviedo, Mr Agustín Iglesias Caunedo. He was joined by the General Manager of Communication and International Relations for Corporación Masaveu, Ms Alicia Castro, the Environmental manager for the industrial sector of the business group, Mr Fernando Tresguerres andthe manager of Tudela Veguin cement factory, Mr Fernando Colunga.

Talking to the press after the event, the mayor stressed “the need for this kind of events and the responsible attitude and commitment of the industrial sector of Masaveu”. The principal of Tudela Veguín National School, Mr José Manuel Antuña, explained “how important these activities are and how they are the best form of environmental education that kids can receive”.
