Specific products which improve the properties of certain common cements in specific applications and whose composition makes them materials of great environmental interest, together with being eco-efficient as they require lower specific consumptions of natural raw materials and energy, thus reducing the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions in the life cycle of the products including them, which has a positive effect on the corresponding final “carbon footprint”.

An example of this type of binder is our range of AsturCON® ROADS products, for the execution of road sub-bases and their use as filler in bituminous mixtures, and AsturCON® PATHS, indicated for making footpaths and tracks with the minimum possible impact. These materials belong to the “Hydraulic Road Binder” family, subjected to the requirements and quality control established in European standard EN 13282.

In comparison with conventional cement, they provide benefits regarding the durability and on site behaviour given its characteristics regarding sulphur resistance, minimum retraction, low hydration heat, long workability periods, resistance development, etc.
